Discounted L'Oreal Products

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been so MIA lately. A lot has been going on with finishing up my Masters degree and also some personalthings. HOWEVER, I had to take my comprehensive exams this past weekend and afterward needed a pick-me-up. I went on over to my local CVS and found out that a LOT of L'Oreal products were 75% off.

I don't know if these products are being discontinued or not, but for such a cheap price I couldn't pass them up!

The first things I purchased were the L'Oreal HIP pigments. I already had two in Progressive and Striving and love them. For only 3 dollars each, I though why not!

I got Exciting (102), Rebel (314), Valiant (534), Unashamed (544), Intrepid (914), Restless (918), and Visionary (924) in order from left to right.
I've grabbed every one that they had except for a
baby pink color, just because it's not very flattering on me.

Each pigment jar has 1.5g of product in it and each comes with a sifter on top which I think makes getting the perfect amount of product a lot easier than MAC pigments. Below I swatched all of the colors, in the opposite order :-(. One the far left the pigment is over a black cream base, in the middle it is over UDPP, and on the far right it is with no base.

The top color is Visionary which is agorgeousgold color. I think it would be pretty as an all over lid color of highlight. It is more metallic than shimmery. The next color isRestless which has hints of a pinkundertone but very subdued. It is a creamy white color and would be great under the brow. The third color down isone I've been wanting for a long time after questioning a waitress about her eyeshadow one day. It is Intrepid and reminds me alot of Blue Brown pigment from MAC. It has a burgundy/red base and when light hits it it has bright turquoise reflects. It is truly stunning and has so much depth. The next color is Unashamed and is a mauve purple. It shows up much more purple on camera than it really is. The next color is Valiant which is a deep periwinkle blue. It has definite purple undertones which are also not represented well on camera. The next color is Rebel which is a lime green color and reminds me of Bitter by MAC. The final color is Exciting which is an opalescent-white color with obvious pink-purple undertones which are brought out more with a dark base.

Each pigment comes with a brush as pictured which actually work really great with pigments.

Next I got 4 blushes from L'Oreal, the Feel Naturale Light Softening Powder Blushes in Rustica, Mauvelous, Mocha Rose, and Au Naturel. They were each about $3.50 so a great deal!

Each blush is highly pigmented and I know they will last me forever. The packaging is quite bulky since each compact has a huge mirror on the upper portion of the compact. I may eventua
lly depot these once I get a free form palette.

Each blush is also matte except for the third once in, Mocha Rose, which has finely milled golden shimmer. They are all quite creamy and none feel powdery at all.

The blushes swatch quite easily and all show up vividly on my tanner skin tone. I think that Au Naturel will make a nice subtle contour shade as well. These are all very buildable and you get 7.2g of product in each compact.

Finally I picked up a "gift bag" of sorts. I was in need of hair ties so I had already grabbed a simple packet for 2.99 but then I saw this which included hair ties for the same price! They had multiple versions as well, but this one in particular suited my needs best. I found them in the shampoo and conditioner isle.

The only disappointment was that the hair ties had metal connecters which tend to break hair, but otherwise this is a fantastic deal!

Life

Recently life's been getting me down. Don't get me wrong, everything in my life is truly going perfectly in the "grand scheme of things," which may be why I am sitting here waiting for something to go amiss. It's just that sometimes I feel so lost, like I have no idea where to go next.

Uploading videos on youtube has really been helping me get my thoughts and inspirations out there more. My career, as much as I love teaching, doesn't mesh too well with a love of beauty--especially when working in the Biology department.

I'm hoping that my new "get healthy" plan will get me back in the swing of things. By gaining weight I felt like I could give people something that they could comment on, my family in particular, and therefore they wouldn't focus on other things in my life. Well now I just feel disgusted at myself. I want to be HEALTHY!!! I want to be able to go on a run with my dog, Bella, without having to stop after one block. Hopefully if I can record it here, it will happen!

Talk to you all soon! (Whoever may stumble across me)
